Baker & McKenzie Law Firm � Madrid office (September 2002 - Present).  Senior Associate and Head of Unit at the EC Trade & Competition Department (the latter position held as from June, 2005). Member of the Firm�s Information Technologies & Communications (IT/C) Practice Group. Aside from providing legal counsel on general commercial issues, involvement in transactions includes representing and advising Spanish and international clients on, inter alia:

(EC Trade and Competition Law) administrative proceedings before national competition authorities and/or the European Commission regarding alleged infringements of EC law in general, and competition law, in particular (e.g. cartels and other restrictive agreements, abuses of dominant position, state aids); merger control filings, including the preparation and follow-up of notifications, challenging proposed transactions on behalf of interested parties and coordinating complex multi-jurisdictional merger control assignments; the assessment of state aids and all types of agreements and contracts from the point of view of national and EC trade and competition law; and the organisation and delivery of tailored competition law compliance programmes, including seminars and courses on such topic addressed to executives;

(IT/C Law) all types of contracts and agreements related to interconnection, outsourcing and/or commercialisation of electronic communications services; miscellanea regulatory issues related to the Spanish current IT/C legal framework, including the preparation of all the documents necessary to obtain the relevant authorisations;  due diligence processes regarding the supply and financing of telecommunications equipment.
    
Cable & Wireless - Legal & Regulatory Department for Continental Europe. Madrid (November 2003 - March 2004). Secondment to this leading British telcoms company to assist in a awide range of legal and regulatory assignments working closely with the head of the department.
Baker &McKenzie Law Firm � London office (January - July 2002). Foreign Associate at the following Departments: EC Trade & Competition (co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional merger control filings, assessing vertical and horizontal agreements from EU competition law perspective); IT/C (assisting British telecommunications operators wishing to invest on the Spanish market, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts subject to the supervision/assistance  of a Solicitor registered with the England & Wales Bar; advising on Spanish e-commerce and data protection rules); and Mergers & Acquisitions (reviewing corporate documents related to the acquisition of  companies and/or assets domiciled in Spain, advising British companies with Spanish subsidiaries on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters pertaining to Spanish law).

Spanish Brandy Association. Jerez de la Frontera, Spain (1997).  Advising on several issues regarding the awarding of state aids from the point of view of national and EC trade and competition law. Advising on a wide range of legal issues pertaining to the association and its members.
