2001 WORLD SERIES
ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS VS NEW YORK YANKEES
Only four years old, the franchise Jerry Colangelo built has reached the fall classic. The Arizona Diamondbacks became the fastest expansion franchise to reach the World Series by knocking off the Atlanta Braves 4 games to 1 in the best-of-seven NLCS.

This page will serve as a schedule and I will post results as well as links to ESPN's recap and results of the games.

The ticket situation was fierce. Tickets for games 1 and 2 went on sale right after the Diamondbacks clinched their spot as the NL Champs and sold out at approximately 5am the next morning. Internet ticket sales exceeded the systems capacity and left many snake fans ticket-less. Scalpers recruited transients to wait in line for them and buy the 10 ticket maximum. I myself am without tickets, but a real fan will feel the thrill no matter where they are at game time.
