Project Timeline
You will be provided with time in class during the
next two weeks to work on your projects.
I expect that you will continue your research and preparations during
and after school in order to complete the assignment in a timely manner.
Day 1 Class
time
Working
in groups of four you will:
- decide who will research
how your local community is harming the environment in regards to global
warming (web access)
- decide who will research
possible positive changes for the local community (web access)
- decide who will research
international harm in regards to global warming (web access)
- decide who will research
choices for positive global change (web access)
** Remember while
researching, record any information and websites that are useful and will be a
part of the final paper.
Day 2
Computer lab
- Research the current local plan (if there is one);
take notes you will discuss with your group later
- Research possible changes to the old local plan while
also creating new, developed, and positive ideas for the new plan
*make
sure to cite any information you use
- Using your research from the global initiative, create
your own global plan as you did
for the local community
- Decide on some discussion time when all of you can
meet during the next three days
Days 3-5
Out of class
- Discuss in your groups what you have learned about how individually
we can impact your community and the earth as a whole
- Discuss from your findings what needs to change and what is
currently working to combat the problem
- Compile a list of sources as you go!
- Decide who will write, edit, and design the newspaper
Days 6-7 Computer lab
- Begin, if you haven’t already, composing your
Newspaper (access to Microsoft Publisher)
- Decide who
will present and distribute the final project
- Decide how
you will present the Newspaper
Days
8-10 Out of class
- Practice – Practice - Practice your Presentation
Days 11-12
- I will provide any help before, during, and after
school specifically for your projects
Days 13-14
Present Your
