Now that you've created a garden of beauty, fill it with some whimsy as well as flowers.  Here are some ideas for a little garden "decorating."

-- Shop local flea markets, antique shops, or garage sales for an old ladder back or wicker chair.  Spruce it up with paint, or leave it plain.  Fill a large pot with flowers, and set it on the chair.  Hang a straw hat bedecked with flowers and ribbons over the back of the chair.

-- Purchase a wooden birdhouse, and decorate it as you wish.  Attach it to the handle of an old shovel.  Push the shovel firmly into your garden (be careful, don't disturb roots).

-- Place one or two sections of picket fencing beside or behind the garden.  Hang decorated grapevine wreaths on the posts, and train a climbing rose or clematis to the fence.

-- Fill a metal watering can with flowers, and set it on an old stool in the garden.

-- Create a circular garden around the base of a defunct well pump, or move the old pump to your existing garden.
