Bouquets

What is more satisfying to the flower gardener's eye than a bouquet of freshly cut flowers?  Whether displayed in a crystal vase or tucked into a humble crock, flowers light up a room with their beauty and fragrance.
Essentially I've got three flower vases, and last year I got pretty bored using the same ones over and over again for displaying my roses, annuals, and perennials.  I began to experiment with some unique containers commonly found in the kitchen.  I had a beautiful antique gravy boat decorated with pansies.  It made a wonderful "vase" for my flowers.  An old enamel tea pot with a brass handle came in handy for large arrangements.  Soon I was using ceramic soap dispensers, glass bowls, tea cups, and antique bottles.  The unusual containers enhanced my enjoyment of each bouquet.
Scour garage sales and antique shops for unusual containers for displaying flowers.  Look around your home to see what new ways you can turn an ordinary bouquet into something extraordinary.
