     This year we put up a bluebird nesting box in our yard.  We mounted it on the post near our grapevines.  (Maybe we'll regret this when the vines start to bear; bluebirds love fruit.)  It has been fascinating to watch the bluebirds prepare the nest, feed their babies, and after getting the little birds to leave home-- start all over again!
      Bluebirds do not frequent backyard feeders, so putting up a box is the best way to encourage these beautiful birds to come.  They take care of the bug population while we enjoy their antics and exquisite colors.
      These beautiful birds were on the decline, but thanks to the efforts of many across the country, they are increasing in number yearly.  For more information on enjoying bluebirds in your backyard check out the following internet web sites:
