In the dark of the night did she come for me,
An angel of doom and an angel of death,
Ravendark hair and wings of black feathers,
Eyes warm and full of the death she brings.
I weep silently to myself alone in heart.
I wish that she would let me pass in peace,
I know that my time has come, though early,
I wished to be late for this time myself.
I sweat in fear beside my sleeping love,
I feel the end drawing near for my life,
I plead in prayer to an unlistening god,
And I beg to warm eyes for her mercy.
I stare as the angel of death and doom,
Stretches forth two perfect hands to dance,
And draws me up in her gentle embrace,
The kiss of peace stealing my heartbeat.
