Songs About Lost Love

These are not just any songs about anything concerning losing love...sad love songs, in otherwords.  These are specifically songs about losing the person you loved through unavoidable circumstances, losing but hoping for them back, or losing them temporarily.

4:14 - Why did I choose 4:14 for the time in this song?  Because I looked at the clock right after a certain person I knew left me (though not intentionally) and the time was 3:14.  It all works.  Plus it sounds good.

Alone - One of my favorites I've written, in a strange way.  It's a rap/talk song, probably my first, modeled after Linkin Park.  The song is about losing someone right after you get to a better point in a relationship with them.

Another Day - From my first notebook, this song is quite a ballad.  It needs music eventually.  It's got the rock feel to it, and I like the metaphors in it a lot.

Blown Away - A sad little song...I had music for it originally, but it was bad music, and I forgot it.  Quite a pretty song, about love being blown away on the wind...

Dropped Your Flowers - One of my favorite new ones I've written!  Tells a story in a very good, addictive way.  Definitely a good pop/rock song.

Empty Space - Wrote this while backpacking.  Nice ode.  Flows well.

Face In The Crowd
- The first verse of this song is one of my favorite verses I've ever written.  The rhyming, flow, and singability.  Overall, a good rap/talk song about being empty after losing someone.

Forever - One of my first songs; in fact, the first song I really liked that I wrote.  Originally with the hilarious accidental line "Like the tears of a giant rolling by"...get it?  A decent pop/rock tune.

Gravel - I like the chorus on this one, but the verses have changed a million times.  I wrote them to just fill the verses.  A sad, pretty song, though.

Hopes - A short, sweet one.  Read this if you want a summary of this page.

Kayleigh (In My Mind)
- Originally entitled this way, then changed to simply In My Mind, now changed back, because I like to leave my songs in the way I like them best.  A specific song that you may not understand if you don't know what happened between me in this girl in great detail.

In Another Life
- Ever have that feeling that something in the past happened to a completely different person?  Here's a song about just that.

Lava Lamp
- I wrote this in a moment of intense feeling.  It turned out well.

Leave
- The crappy song, or one of them, for this page.  Oh well.  It's about moving on from things that have happened.

Memories - This song has been rewritten more than any other song here, and it's actually a poem.  The original version was completely different from this.  I modernized it quite a few times.  My favorite strict poem I've written.

Never Going Back - Yes, it sounds like a certain Fleetwood Mac song.  It's still a good short one about not going back...obviously...that is on my bonus CD, Leftovers.

Parting - The most anguish-filled song I've written.  The beginning of my period of pretty deep depression.

Pity The People - This is not a song about losing a love, it's just about leaving each other for awhile...but it's good, and has some good lines in it.

Remember My Love - A little song I wrote a long time ago that I, for some reason, really like.  "If you'll remember my love, I'll find a way to let you go"?

Silver Rose - The title may confuse you, but it's supposed to.  It's in the religion section too.  Yes, it's about losing a girl because of religion.

Sparkle - A song I wrote awhile ago about someone special to me, with one line that I love more than most lines I write.  Very pretty.  See below.

Sparkle (Version 2) - A song based on Sparkle and another song of mine, Flow...with lines from both.  And beautiful music.  My favorite version of this song.

The End Of The World - A song comforting someone who's been broken up with.  For my cousin, Daryl.

The Test Of Time - I took this line from a letter I was written, and the song flowed from there.  A pop/rock song that just works.

The Thief - References to the Bible and other things fill this song out.  Nice little love you/miss you song.

There's No Other - This is completely different from the original song I wrote with this title.  I took the title and wrote my ideas on it...here they are.  A ballad of a love who leaves you and forgets you.  Some people told me they cried when they read this song.  Wow!

Think Of You Tonight - A pop/rock song that's not very good that I wrote.

Thoughts - Written about the same person as Sparkle, an interesting song, one of the first I wrote music to.  Also, the first I wrote music to and modeled the words after the music.

Vision - A Creed-type song that I enjoyed writing.  One of my more depressing odes, though.

Haunted - A power-chord verse with a beautiful chorus...a cool song.  Very unique.  One of my better recent ones.

November Day - A poem where I tried to copy my Murder style...it worked okay, but not nearly as well.  Sweet, though.

Big Brown Eyes - A cute pop song about a first love.
