| Sculpted Love | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| I have a statue that I used to kiss She was sculpted well and hard to miss In my arms, and I would whisper Though frozen as we'd always be In a kiss of stone uncertainty I'd hold her tight, slide into her skin And find a crack for me to hide in She was a statue with a sullen kiss Somehow she'd know if I left on a tryst And later her look would be jealous Though frozen as she'd always be In a stare of stone stolidity I'd reassure her that she was mine Coarse though built, to me 'twas fine And she was my marble That I'd carve and carve and chisel down She was my marble My marble love I'd chip and sculpt and carve her down Touch her body and wear her down Friction wearing down She was a joy to hold and kiss With unmoving smiles and luscious lips The finest marble head and bust But frozen fast, she'd always be Though I wanted her to be like me So I'd breathe her life, give her worlds And hope that she'd be my marble girl |
