Choked By A Rainbow
Choked by a rainbow, he saw and wrote
She died in a hole, all filled with smoke
And angels descended to take her away
But in fiery heat she'd rather stay

If eyes shattered, hers would be broken
She's seen too much to have never spoken
In a perfect world, you'd live and you'd die
Without standing, shivering, wondering why
She stands, and trembles, and in treble voice
Admits that this was all her choice

Choked by a rainbow, he swears it's true
Her fireplace lacked an open flue
And angels ascended from fire and hell
But she shakes her head, and carries herself

Every miracle lives with a couple of scars
Even darkest night has a scatter of stars
In a perfect world, you'd shine and you'd fade
Never conceive of the messes you'd made
But she stands, and shakes, and in breaking tone
Asks angels and devils to leave her alone

Choked by a rainbow, he nods his head
Smoke gave her breath, but left her dead
And angels intended to give her peace
Peace is subjective...and not her place

And she asks spirits for a little space
So she can die and fade without a trace
Choked by a rainbow, she died in a hole
And gave the smoke her fiery soul
