Future domain: jordy.live

Summary

Content

- This site will contain images, texts, audio files, and videos. All content will be original work.

Competition:

1.

https://www.jenessak.com/

This is a porfolio website belonging to one of my digital design instructors.

What I like:

The color scheme-It's very simple. I like the use of a color as emphasis.

The layout-It's clean with intuitive organization.

The content-Includes still images, keeping the pages very uniform.

What I don't like:

The background-Pure white backgrounds are too boring to me. I prefer something with a bit more texture, soft colors, or black/grayscale.

The "Gallery"-Seems a bit unnecessary, as it's essentially the same as the "Home" page.

2.

https://designformankind.com/

A difficult to describe lifestyle blog.

What I like:

The background-It's off-white, much easier on the eyes.

The layout-It's simple enough to navigate, but includes design complexities that make it interesting and unique.

What I don't like:

The content-There's almost too much content available at once. HOWEVER, the archive page is a nice feature to clear content out.

The color scheme-A bit on the muted side. Colors aren't used for emphasis or contrast.

3.

https://calumalexanderwatt.com/

An extremely barebones portfolio website for an very successful concept artist.

What I like:

The layout-Or, the lack of. Sometimes, the more simple a website is, the more effective its message.

The media-Having concept art with the same background as the site background makes the works "melt" into the website. I think that's a nice touch.

What I don't like:

The content-With a one-page website, the lack of content makes the website seem empty.

The color scheme-Another case of mostly white with no statement color.

Purpose

- I mostly want to build this website for my friends and family, particularly those who live out of the state or country. I don't use social media, so this is a more personalized approach to let the people in my life know what I'm up to. I may use this website for more professional purposes after college.

Desired Results

- Users browse works, with browsing based on what personally interests them.

Target Audience

- Adult friends and family members, most residing in the US.
