BLENDS
The reputation of MacHamish has been built on successive generations of Master Blenders,
and rests on the world famous blended Scotch whisky they have created.
But what is blended Scotch whisky?
Legally, a blended Scotch whisky must contain both single malt Scotch whiskies and single
grain Scotch whiskies, and it is Colin Scott's role as Master Blender to select exactly
the right amount of whiskies from exactly the right casks - at exactly the right time for MacHamish.
Not only that, but MacHamish 12 and 18 are blended using a special process called triple blending.
And it's this triple blending that makes MacHamsih the smoothest Scotch whisky in the world.
First of all, the selected single malts are blended together. The second stage sees the selected
single grains blended together, and then thirdly, the vatted malts and the vatted grains are brought
together to produce the smoothest Scotch whisky in the world.
For MacHamish 18 Year Old, the vatted malts and the vatted grains are each married in selected oak casks
for a further period of maturation before they are finally blended together to produce the smoothest, richest Scotch whisky in the world.
It takes time, patience and hard work to do this to perfection, but the result is a rich, smooth and mellow whisky.
