Love Those Rubber Boots Man !!  -  49
Jealous of a friend in boots

When I was little in the infants at school a friend of mine sometimes wore long black rubber wellingtons on rainy days. I was jealous because there was only him and a couple of girls who wore them, this was 1969, and it was snowing. My mum said to me that we were going to have to buy some wellington boots for school. I was excited by the thought of trying them on and owning them but embarrassed about what other kids would think.

So with some trepidation I wore them to school, walking through the snow and puddles thinking - this is fun I love them - but I was so disappointed when the teacher asked me to remove my wellingtons and put on pumps till break. I don't know if this is where my love for them comes from or maybe it could be from my dad who used to work at an industrial place near a river.
My dad always kept his wellies, with turned down tops, in the kitchen. Sometimes I would sneak into the kitchen and try his wellies on. We had a neighbour who my mum used to work for as a cleaner. One day I went to find my mum. On entering the kitchen I saw his Wellington boots which were long black rubber with a red rim trim around the tops. Of course they were original Argyll wellingtons and they were a lot longer than dads.

I desperately wanted to try these on to see if they would come up over my knees but then my mum came into the kitchen and I couldn't. One day later I did manage to try them on and it was a great feeling but I nearly got caught by his wife only just managing to pull them off in time. "You needn't take your shoes off in my house" she said.
I live in the States.   I loved rubber boots from a very early age.  I can't explain why.  Just the feel and the smell of them!!  I hate it when they are mistreated.

I remember I got a pair of rubber cowboy boots when I was 4 or 5.  They had red shafts and black feet.  I liked them so much my mother let me take them to bed with me.

In elementary school, we all wore 4-buckle arctics on snowy days.  We had to take them off during the day, but I would sneak into the coat room and touch the other boys' boots.  Sometimes I was jealous that they had hotter boots than I did.  The farm kids had the best boots.

I didn't encounter wellie-type boots until high school.  They turned me on even more, because they didn't have the buckles to get in the way.  No one wore boots to high school, they were all too tough for that.  I have a pair of true English Hunter Wellies that I mail ordered.

Today, my big turn-ons are "slush boots", like wellies, but worn over the shoes.  In fact, I just bought a used pair of yellow slush boots on eBay.

Most construction workers wear these now, especially for concrete work, But occasionally you do see some arctics or wellies.  Ebay is a good place to find new and used boots.  Today, the vast majority of slush boots are made in China, and not very desirable.  A few US companies, such as LaCrosse Rubber, are still making boots, but they are fading fast.

I also turn on to other rubber things, such as latex gloves and boots as well as certain kinds of athletic shoes, notably Converse Chuck Taylor All-Sta
