Lyra begins her career as an artist. She leads a bohemian life in London’s Soho. |

As the unifying influence of the Church fades away following the fall of the Magisterium, world tension rises. Lyra abandons her artistic career and joins the Corps, an international peace-keeping force. |

This is the time of the Slow Revolution. With the power of the Church now completely destroyed and existing nation states weakened by war, commercial forces become dominant. The Jordan Corporation begins its rise to power. |
