Jonathan Cross is the Director, Producer, Writer, Editor and Musician for the film Zombie! he also portrays George, Gill the brummie tramp and Repton the american solidier in the film.
Biography :
Jon was born in the dung heap that was and still probably is Solihull which is on the outskirts of Birmingham, England.
His parents seperated at the age of nine and he has moved steadily about once every other year to various other dung heaps in the country. He is 25 in February 2005. He finally settled for about 5 years in the biggest heap of them all, High Wycombe, where he met the rest of the group that would go on to form 'Gimmie Some Sugar productions' and make Zombie!
He has been writing and producing various scripts, films, sketches and songs for as long as he can remember and probably quite a bit longer than that.
Starting with comic strips at the tender age of 7, and working steadily down hill from there, this his first feature length script and indeed his most ambitious project to date.
He is an avid musician and plays Guitar, Piano Mandolin, harmonica, Accordian, drums and percussion all to his own particularly low standard.
He now lives at an undisclosed location in South West England with his kitten Elvis and a vast collection of porn.
Filmography :
Scandia-Hus 1992 - Onwards A Sketch show.
For almost the last 15 years Jon has written, acted, produced and made silly faces for a tape recorded and sometime filmed sketch show with his long term compadre - Jon Wallace.
Bar Flys 1996
A Short Film.
Written and Directed by Jon Wallace, this film consists of a series of little vignettes set around the life of a small bar. Jon Cross appears at the end as a Scouse tramp.
(considering in Zombie! he plays a Brummie Tramp, look how far he's come!)
Randolph's Alice 1997
A Short Film.
Jon's first directorial effort was this little Black n White short written by his friend Jon Wallace. it tells the story of a writer with the dreaded block meeting his ideal woman and ranting a lot about the futility of heckling butchers.
Breakfast in Bed 1998
A slightly longer film.
Co-Written (with JW again) Directed by, starring and with all the music by Jon Cross this film shaped his love of multi-tasking if nothing else.
It tells the story of a man who hallucinates he is part of different film scenarios. While filming one stunt, JC fell off the bonnet of a moving car.
SUPERCOP and THE SHAMBLING DETECTIVE 2001-2003
A TV Series.
Co-Written, Devised, shot by and starring JC.
SUPERCOP so far has run for 5 episodes at various lengths. Telling the story of Supercop (DD) and Informer (JC) fighting crime on the gritty streets of Wycombe.
SEE LINKS PAGE FOR MORE INFO.
THE SHAMBLING DETECTIVE for many reasons never made it past it's first episode but it was a bizarre mix of Sherlock Holmes, Colombo, Inspector Morse etc. and focused on a shabby detective and his side kick Lucky helping local Police Inspector, Wagner (DD) with a case about a man who murders dopplegangers.
This will probably be Jon's NEXT feature length script, although in a vastly different form.
ZOMBIE! 2003-2005
