Principals Message

I took over headmaster of King David High School, Victory Park in 1999 after having taught History at the school for the past 10 years. In striving to uphold the school’s reputation for all round excellence and to perpetuate our record for producing first class graduates, I believe we need to stress the importance of value based education within our school. A school is about children, their personalities and their growth – teaching each one to be a mensch.

My vision for the future of this school has been built on the long-standing foundations of camaraderie that enables members of this caring Victory Park family to forge lifelong friendships. It has been shaped by the unequivocal support that has always connected teachers to pupils, and pupils to their peers. I am committed to perpetuating these fundamental components of our culture, so that we can continue to produce students who are assets to society.

We have moved away from the culture of bullying, which is inherent in traditional initiation ceremonies, and guided our students in the direction of a ‘buddy system’, whereby senior pupils serve as mentors to the younger pupils.

Nationally and globally we are going through a learning revolution. Sociologist and author, Alvin Toffler ,noted that; “Tomorrows illiterates will not be the people who cant read; they will be the people who have not learned how to learn.” King David High School, Victory Park has been in the business of growing young minds for thirty seven years. We have kept abreast of changes in society and education and done our homework on the future, and we will continue to fulfil our mission of preparing each generation of Students for tomorrow at the highest level pf all-round accomplishment.
