Photos of Durham Flooding

And then the rains came... and came... and came... it doesn't really look like June does it...

These were the worst floods in Durham for 38 years... and happened during the exams here... Fortunately I had no exams at Maiden Castle, the sports centre, this year, but people who did had to be moved due to the damage the floods did - the centre itself was put out of action for between 8 and 12 weeks...


Not even the sacred Klute could escape from the chaos of the floods....




And I wonder why nobody is sitting outside at the Half Moon Inn.... it'd have been fun :)


This is the staff carpark at Elvet Riverside, which became the staff boating lake for the duration of the flooding... and some poor kid had lost their wellington boot here too - or was it Claires?
