Seat Construction
First test layup.                      Blood from where I sliced my finger.               More blood from my cut.
Even more blood.                         The blood stain on the foam.             Beginning the seat construction.
Laying out the glass.                     Seat back glassed and trimmed.          I had some trouble on the siffener.
I used duct tape on the curve.          All trimmed and ready to turnover.               Completed seat 31 July 2003.
My comments on the seat are as follows:  It is not impossible to build and the FAP technique really saved time.  Some of you probably have noticed that the front seat angle isn't near 60 degrees.  It's around 35 degrees.  The only angle that matters is the seat back to the stiffener because it later becomes a bulkhead.  The other angles are for comfort.  The seat pan turned out right on the money.  The other angle is going to be cut off right before my knees so the gentle curve it has will work fine once installed.  On a final note, I took a side trip down for a build session with Steve during the seat construction.  If anyone has doubts about their abilities, schedule a session, and learn from a professional.  A combination of learning on my own and with Steve has been very rewarding.  CL 1 on 31 July 2003.
