George Holley began racing motorcycles as a teenager and with the help of his brother, Earl Holley, created their first motorcycle, the runabout in 1897. They thought they had a good enough of designin 1899, that they would market their engine to other companys. Their new engine did not sell too well, so they began making the Holley Motorcycle in 1902. The Bradford, Pennsylvania company's first motorcycle was a 220cc single with a wheelbase of 46". they made their motorcycle mostly the same until 1911 when their carberetor brought them enough business. They are still around today. |
