| The Davis Sawing machine Company of Dayton Ohio made the Dayton Motorbicycle And the Dayton model C3-8 twin cylinder motorcycle. The Dayton Motorbicycle had an engine and wheel kit that would replace the front wheel on a bicycle. The engine was very similar to a Smith Motor Wheel. It was a 165cc single that could produce 1 and a half horsepower. In 1915 the Dayton motorcycle came with the option of two different engines, a Dayton engine and a De Luxe engine. (quote from 1915 Dayton ad) "Any 1915 Dayton may be had with either the new Dayton or the new Dayton De Luxe Motor. The models are shown with the respective model numbers and prices. The Dayton motor manufactured by us is speedy throughly efficient and dependable. It is introduced on the 1915 Dayton after thorough experiment and test. The Dayton De Luxe Motor has been furnished regularly on Dayton Motorcycles in the past. Its power, speed and dependability are well known." The Dayton Motorcycle had many different touches like a completly subdivided oil tank. It also had a spring fork that "absorbs impacts from any angle."
