This is my 1st time wearing a female Kimono although I had made a few Kimonos before, but all are male type ^^;;
Different between the male & female Kimono is on the sleeves, male's is sealed & female's is open...
Why I choose to cosplay this?
1st thing, I like Rukia very much, and I try to complete all the outfit she has (official version)
and when I saw her wearing this Kimono in Anime in Soul Society & talking to Renji, cosplay bugs hit me again XD |

sewing the Kimono is not the hard work, and the pattern I just need to paint on, before start the work, RESEARCH for the colour ^^;; *keep repeat the same scene & mark down wich part is what colour...*
the really hard part is putting it no & moving around in it.
Lucky I had done some research on basic knowledge of Kimono years back, i still manage to put it on nicely ^^ |

Get the right material for an Obi brought me headache, I can't get any nice & suitable fabric for it, i prefer PLAIN golden fabric, and the thickness is not the normal cotton type, in Malaysia is quite hard to get.this type of fabric. So ended I get those with pattern =___=
Tie the Obi also the hard part. I had made the Obi about 3m long. And keep on practise before I wear it to public. Lucky the ribbon/knot I tie is not bad ^^;; |
