| My beloved mother, Shelia, passed away on December 19, 2003. She had turned 50 only a month prior. My father, Thomas, my brothers, Matthew and Daniel, and I were there in the hospital with her until the very end. As well as much of our extended family. It was not completely unexpected, she had been fighting the lung cancer since being diagnosed the previous year. Regardless of this fact, a tremendous grief has befallen us all. She was truly the glue that held our family together and I fear that without her here we will slowly drift apart. |

| This is a story I had to write. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
My mother had a vibrant energy that was noticed by all those whose lives she touched. She came to enjoy sitting in the backyard and watching the birds that would come visit, both the birdbath and the birdfeeder. She had more of a green-thumb than anyone I have ever known. By giving her a failing plant it would grow again. She allso enjoyed watching BBC America. Changing Rooms won't be the same without Carol or my mom. She was a skillful Chinese checker player and the person who taught me to play chess. Almost every Saturday of those final few months, we went to Garage Sales. Many times just to spend time together, since we didn't always find good bargains. I love you, mom! I miss you so much! |
