Here's a wood molding didgeridoo. The instrument is lying against the wall, between the lamp and the bed. From a distance, the instrument resembles an oversized diode.
Didge Gallery
That's a cardboard didge, lying across the bed. The instrument consists of several tubes glued together, then covered with tape.
A closeup of the wood didge. This instrument will be used for demonstration purposes here.
All four feet of didge. Any longer would require two sixteen-foot lengths of wood molding. Something to consider, for those who want didges longer than four feet.
Detail of didge mouthpiece. Note placement of beeswax.
The far end of the wood didge, looking into the interior. This photo is intended to demonstrate how four sections of wood molding are glued together. This is the most difficult part of assembly since the pieces can collapse, rather than remain together.
Yours truly playing didge. Actually, this is one way--blowing straight into the mouthpiece. Blowing toward one side is easier. See next page. Use link below.
