She walks in darkness

Though the day is light and sunshine

The darkness is in her soul

And she searches for the light

She seeks the solace

She finds in being alone

Time when she needs no words

And there are no demands

She loses track of time

As she gazes into the distance

She doesn’t know the answers

Or which path will give her peace

She speaks not a word

Lost in her thoughts

That echo in silent whispers

She cannot put into words

She wonders what she’d say

If asked to explain

She searches her heart and mind

For words as elusive as the wind
