Him

Part Six
(cont.)

The arrow, the bow did throw,
Struck beast in chest and hips.
Then the blood began to flow
From the beast's quivering lips.
And the beast did lay just paces away.

And as I stared at the beast,
Trotting came rider and horse.
Was not frightened in the least
By the rider or the horse.
Speechless I stay not knowing what to say.

Even as the rider came,
All fears began to subside.
Rider's hair and horse's mane
Were waving from side to side.
Truth, courage, love--in His eyes were meaning.

He looked from me to the hound--
There was no hate in His eye.
He stepped softly to the ground;
Reached for the sword at His side.
Crystal beaming and blue sapphires gleaming.

He said, "My wrath shall wax hot.
I will kill you with the sword."
With that, the crystal sword shot--
Final sound the beast then roared.
The sword had gone just below it's left ear.

And as the sword then was raised,
And as the beast then did roar,
I saw this and was amazed--
The beast rose and spun and soared;
Hovered and faded and then disappeared.

He turned to me with blue eyes
While returning sword to sheath.
He looked not into my eyes
But into the soul beneath.
And that was when I felt my sould burn bright.

Then with swifness of sparrow,
On horse, He began to fly.
He then took the third arrow
And shot it into the sky.
The sun was lifted.  Again it was light.
