Him

Part One

Darkness:  Darkness all except
The point of Light I intercept.
The point of Light so far away
Moving so could not I say.
Now the Light a distant beast.
Dog-like shape to say the least.
Teeth a-grind and feet a-pound;
Eyes a-flame this hell-bent hound.
I turn to flee to no avail.
No escape from hound or hell.
On my hands and knees I slump
When sweaty beast my back did jump.
As my life I near gave he
Came the one with flight to me.
Lightning flashed from fingertips;
Struck the beast in chest in hips.
Flew the beast from me with that.
Thankful on my back I sat.
Long-haired man with thunder hands--
Savior mine before me stands.
Face of strength, his long black hair
Hides the eyes that through me stare.
Helps me up and hair pulls back--
His eyes!  His eyes!  Revolt, attack!
I scramble to my feet once more
His forgiveness I deplore:
"Sorrowful my soul exceeds.
Sincere thank you for your deeds.
I bid you, kind sir, what be thy name?"
"Know or know not--tis the same."
That the first words from him came:
"Know or know not--tis the same."
Feel I must still 'scape his face,
But know not where, I, in this place.
This place must be too close to hell.
Uncontrolled I let a yell.
I turned to run but only fell
For in my back, his fingernails.
Dare I do, but turned my head
To careful see just what I dread.
There his face near decomposed.
Hair now fur and eyes half closed.
Dripping mouth and stenching breath
I thought came with only death.
Scared so ghastly I then spoke:
"Let me out!"  I then awoke.
