  • Academic Written English   This webpage was edited by me for an ESL program of the Program in Linguistics at the University of Florida: Academic Written English, a writing course for international graduate students.
  • Resources for English Language and Culture   This page provides various aspects of English learning, such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, and also provides other valualble resources.  the Ohio University CALL Lab.
  • SchMOOze University   Established as a place where students could practice English while sharing ideas and experiences with other learners and practicers of English. Students have opportunities for one-on-one and group conversations as well as access to language games, an on-line dictionary, virtual stockbroker and many language games. 
  • Virtual English Language Center   This site was developed by the Comenius Group to help students, teachers and speakers of English from around the world have on line access to relevant materials, lessons and products.

  • EnglishClub.com   This site comes to you from Cambridge, England. It is written mainly in British English, taking the The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Current English as a reference.

  • TEFL.NET   TEFL Jobs and Resources for TEFL/TESL/ TESOL Teachers.
  • The Language Teacher Online   You'll find excerpts from this site, the monthly publication of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT).



DICTIONARIES
 
  • Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary   Merriam-Webster delivers the most up-to-date dictionary on the Web.
  • Yourdictionary.com   You'll find your own language.  Also, it links to other online dictionaries.  Amazing!
  • Alternative Dictionary   These pages contain words and expressions you most likely won't find in a normal dictionary.  This is an experimental "internet collaborative project", which means that all entries are made by internet users. 
  • OneLook Dictionaries   Here is the place to look for "hard to find" words that may not appear in general dictionaries.  If you type a word for search, you will see what special dictionaries (e.g. slang, medical, science dictionaries) as well as general dictionaries say in one look.
  • Rhyming Dictionary   You can find rhymes, synonyms, antonyms, definitions, related words, homophones, and more.  Especially, you will be surprised you can find how Shakespere used the words you choose.



ENCYCLOPEDIA
 
  • Encyclopedia Britannica    This is now a phenomenal resource.  Connections are provided for the World Wide Web as well as to articles within the Britannica.

  • Downloadable Files to Replicate Web-Reading Study   This page lists the original study materials from one of the experiments in a research project about how users read on the Web and how authors should write their Web pages.
