Brian T: So youre still there, in hell. You'd think you'd of left already. RSA: I have this final album to do ASAP, im coming back home in Sept or Oct. I cant take these idiots anymore.
Brian T: Ok , Well youve done two albums or EP's Since Sepuku and Blind Eye to Beauty. How come I havent heard too much of these EP's? RSA: Theyre both completed, but I have to finalize the mastering. I've been out of that stupid country which happens to be where the drum and vocal tracks for these albums are so im relatively impotent in terms of mastering now.
Brian T: Whats up with the Wake Engine collab? RSA: We never spoke about it seriously. I did a track for him to use, but he never said anything about wanting it or using it for his shit, also he got a little on the quiet side so I figured Id wait for him to get his life where he wanted it before bugging him about this shit. As of now though I have no plans for any collab on this album. This new album im going to be working on is going to be really personnal. It deals alot with family, where I am, and just life as seen through my head... frustration.
Brian T: Whats the title about, Waltzing with the Invalids, its not about handicapped people I hope. RSA: Not at all. Its just how I feel. Life is just a bunch of dance steps, you see where your feet go and you move that direction with a sense of coordination ya know, but with my fam.. its like dancing with excuse the expression.. cripples. In all honesty we're in a race to destroy and emotionally cripple each other. Its not really that we try, its just the way things have ended up, quite frankly its exhausting and I realize some families work better at longer distances, none of us are very supportive about anything.
Brian T: Sounds like most families RSA: Not really, we take the cake for coldness
Brian T: You did an industrial and a metal album and a sort of math-metal album, whats the new goal for this album in terms of direction. RSA: Screamo/Metal Core.. somthing like that but im really trying to create a beautiful work of art here, as you can tell by the cover ( which is on the front of the web-page ) Im writing the lyrics first this time around to perserve lyrical integrity, so the music will be written around the vocals rather than the drums like my shit is usually done.
Brian T: Have you calmed down with the right wing stuff yet, it seems that even friends of yours dont really appreciate some of your more conservative political ideologies.
RSA: Well, I dont like republicans, but i like conservative government. I believe social programs for citizens in terms of work and safety and programs for the poor are good I however dont like hippie apologist governments and I also think if the shoe fits .. wear it. To put it simply, I'm pro American. I believe in our fundamental rights and I fuckn hate people that want to bring shit down rather than construct. My feeling is if you have a problem, fix it, rather than buying bombs, go build a college if your people are poor, use the money you'd use on arms for school and most importantly keep church and state completely seperated. If you have problems, dont bring them to our fucking doorstep. We're all trying to do better, and the thing you should ask yourself is " Is this good for the youth of my country, will this help my children?", If it doesnt but you still commit said act, you should be reprimanded as you will undoubtably pose yet another problem some place further down the line. Simple.
Brian T:Sounds rational. RSA: Im not religous, its the only thing i have to go by man, rationale .. yup.
Brian T: Is this album going to be political. RSA: Nope just one song.
Brian T: When will it be ready? RSA: Im shopping around for companies to take my demo and I need to start this soon, so I will try and do it kinda quick but I'll Keep the quality up, seriously though I NEED STUDIO MONITORS BADLY !!!!!!! Do you know how hard it is to mix an album without good studio monitors?
Brian T: Are you still using seven string guitars on this album RSA: Yeah, I cant play six string, it just feels really weird, i started out playing bass, then I occasionally used LSDin3ds Fender Squier. The first guitar I actually bought though was a cheap Jay Turser, it never stays in tune and Now I only use it once in a blue moon for practicing on my roof and other situations where I wouldnt want to have my RG 1527 on premise. I hope to import an 8 string guitar soon, or Ill just buy one when Ibanez puts one out, im just a huge fan of extended range guitars,.. and yes I do use all the strings on most all of my songs.
Brian: How are you feeling about this new album. RSA: If all goes as well as planned, I hope to have other people work on the next ( under my creative control of course ). Or maybe I'll just try n get a real band. I love working by myself but If I have another person who i feel is on or above par with me it will stretch my creative muscles thus producing a better work, im all for it. It all depends though All I know is this album will be better than the ones that came before and i'll do my best to make sure its completely grating on the ears while sustaining a sense of intelligenece well and above industry standard.. which shouldnt prove to be that much of a challenge. Brian: Bands youre into now? RSA: Converge are the main band i been digging, I also picked up some Arcturus and Mansons newest one. Im also checking out the new roots album and Im giving Metallicas St. Anger a try, it sounds pretty crappy from here, but maybe when I get a chance to sit and herb out with it I might forgive it.. although load/reload and this are a little to heavy for me.... in the wrong way.
Brian: The Malita comment by Jon.. did it get to you man? RSA: Ma-who? Anyway check out WAKE ENGINE,.Despite what some websites have had to say... he is not a neo nazi, take it from me., ive knonw his ass for 11 years.
RSA: OHHHHH MALITA !!!!!!!! .. you bitch. |
