Dear Family and Friends,
Thanks so much for all of the information that you've been sending my way. Thanks, too, for all the offers of housing and help.
We're tentatively planning to medivac Tim this coming week. The exact date will depend on a couple of things. First off: making arrangements with the hospital stateside, and secondly, Tim's condition.
Right now, Tim's fighting an infection. Yesterday his respiratory rate increased quite a bit, and to me, he just looked uncomfortable. By last evening, he was running a temperature of over 102 degrees. I'm not sure that they know exactly where his infection is yet, but most likely it's in his lungs. He may be getting pneumonia. Yesterday, too, he had quite a bit of fluid in his lung, so they did a small surgical procedure to remove it. They're giving him antibiotics and medication to reduce the fever, and it seems to be doing the trick right now. He was a little better this afternoon. One discouraging thing I've noticed is that he hasn't been responding at all to our voices or touch.
The infection could delay our plans. So, I'll keep you posted.
