Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you so much for your prayers. The kids and I feel them. It is well with our soul.
Tim's condition is basically unchanged. The swelling in his brain has slightly decreased. The treatment being used (hypothermia) can only be used for 3 days, so starting tomorrow ( Sunday our time), the rewarming process will begin. It takes 7-10 days to complete and the bleeding and swelling could begin again. Tomorrow is critical, SO PLEASE PRAY
I realized that I did not tell you that Tim was on his bicycle when he was hit. He was taken to the base hospital. The trauma care was not extensive enough to handle his injuries so he was transferred to an excellent Japanese hospital an hour away.
I had been out walking Thursday am and when I returned from his bike ride, so I became concerned. While I was walking, an ambulance from the base had passed me. At the time, I had prayed for Tim because I knew he was out and about, but I was not concerned. After returning home and finding him gone though, I immediately called the ER and they told me that a cyclist had been brought in. They did not recognize Tim, so I was able to confirm his identity on the phone. Within minutes, the wonderful folks from his squadron had arrived to take us to the hospital.
The van that struck Tim was driven by a 58 year old woman who was on her way to the mountains to visit a medium (someone who contacts the dead) . (Interesting) She is unhurt, but please pray for her. her van is totaled.
To the Misawa Community:
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us. Words cannot express our love and gratitude.
Seems to me I remember reading of another resurrection taking place on the 3rd day. We pray that Tim's will start tomorrow.
In His Grip,
Carole and Kids
