Dear Family and Friends,

Tim remains at St. Joseph’s Hospital for now. The doctors have cleared him to head back to Palm Valley, but the insurance company is refusing to authorize one of his medications. The doctors have put Tim on amakacyn - a newer, very powerful antibiotic - in addition to two others. Evidently, amakacyn is very expensive. At any rate, Tim will stay in the hospital until the issue is resolved or the course of medication is finished. I should know more tomorrow.

Tim isn’t responsive, but he is looking much better. No seizures and his white counts are better. His blood pressure is still a bit low, but it is better, too. So, he is ready to head “home”. When I asked the doctor why Tim was having trouble with his blood pressure, he said it was probably due to the infection in his blood - evidently Tim was slightly septic. Not good, but at least they were able to correct it. He has some new, inflatable waffle boots to help take the pressure off of his bed sores.

Tim’s mom and her hubby arrive tomorrow and we are looking forward to their visit.

Have a great week.
Carole
