Dear Family and Friends,
I found out a little more information about Tim’s infection. It is called VRE wbich stands for vancomycin-resistant enterocci. It is a bacterial infection that patients pick up in hospitals. A person can be infected and sick from it, or just colonized with the bacterium. That means the patient has it but does not suffer any sickness from it. I spoke with the nurse and asked her if Tim’s case was one of colonization since he didn’t seem to have any signs of sickness or infection, and she said that it was. So, that is good news, sort of.
