Family Search

Run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) This is a very good source of informantion. Much of what is put on is submitted by other researchers.

First Families 2001

Old site but some useful info. The search function doesn't seem to work though.

Australian registries of birth deaths and marriages

NSW Records

Records from NSW birth deaths and marriages.

Victorian Records

Vic Birth Deaths and marriages search. Fee payable.

You can also get a set of CD's from Victorian Birth Deaths and Marriages
- Pioneer index, Federation Index, Edwardian Index Great War index and Death Index.
I used CD's available from the local library.
They are created when entries were made in the register and an index was created to locate each entry. The only down side is that these are handwritten and when the datbase was created some spelling mistakes or typos were entered. Also being hndwritten, some first names were shorthand, eg. Wm = William, Thos = Thomas. The search still works well. Once an entry is located you can order a copy of the certificate. I used this extensivley and had great success.

My Family Tree at Haley Central

This link has our family tree added into the family tree of Ron Haley.
It has over 90,000 names listed. You can search for connections to many different people. (Sometimes it has trouble opening up)

Family Tree maker

Family tree program. Has many good features.

FZIP

This is the family tree program I found the most user friendly.
It was freeware and worked well. I have since moved to Family Tree Maker, as it had more features.

GEDPAGE

This is the program that was used to convert the family tree from a GEDCOM file to a web.

KILMORE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

This has links to Electoral Rolls for Kilmore. Included is Anthony CHEVINS.

DEAD PERSONS SOCIETY

This has links to several cemeteries, including Carlyle and Bundalong.
