Summary of the Days Play: With only one day to go after today, you could say that today was "moving day". At the top of the leaderboard was Wooly and Chuck seperated by 1 point, Mike was a further 6 points back, Nick was 9 points adrift and John 11 points behind. If either Mike, Nick or John were going to be in contention on the final day then today was the day they needed to make their move. Playing probably the toughest course of the tour there was always the possibility that someone could shoot a really bad score. Mark who almost drove the first hole, a 313 par 4, started steadily with a par 4 for 3 points, however, after a string of bad holes made the turn having scored just 8 points. Meanwhile his playing partner Chuck, continued to play his steady game and made the turn in 18 points and was now leading Wooly by 9 points, Mike also went out in 18 points and was now 3 points ahead of Wooly and 5 behind Chuck, whilst Nick and John made some ground on Mark with 15 and 14 points respectively. The greens at Tiger's Eye have been likened to warped plywood and I can't think of a better analogy. There are no straight putts to be found. Mike's front 9 of 8 over included three 3 putts and one 4 putt. The second 9 saw as much a change around in the leaderboard as the first 9. Wooly set his sights on trying to regain his lead over Chuck and put together a solid back 9 of 17 points for a total of 25 points, Chuck on the other hand realising he now had a huge lead managed to self destruct, finishing the back 9 with only 9 points for a total of 27 points and a 1 shot lead over Mark. Mike, playing in the second group was unaware of Chuck's collapse and after taking a triple at the 10th for 0 points, played the last 8 holes in 1 under par which included 2 birdies, a bogey and a ball in the water. That 8 hole stretch was worth 24 points and gave Mike a total score of 42 points, a gain of 17 points over Wooly and 15 points over Chuck. Going into the final round tomorrow Mike now has a 10 point lead over Chuck and 11 points over Mark. Nick and John will need to go really low tomorrow as they are now trailing by 17 and 20 points respectively, however after todays huge changes on the leaderboard it is obvious that anything can happen
Course Review: Tiger's Eye is actually in North Carolina and is one of the northern most clubs classed as being in the Myrtle Beach area The extra driving distance is well worth the effort however, as this is a great course with lots of interesting holes. This course looks tough if you study the course guide, an if you are not hitting the ball straight it probably is. The day I played my game was in the best shape it had been in for many years and other than struggling to read the greens I hardly missed a fairway or green all day. So its hard to give an unbiased opinion about the difficulty of the course. All that needs to be said is that it is a must play. I don't think you need to play it every time you visit Myrtle, but it deserves to be on every short list.

Top 3 Most Memorable Holes: I guess the most memerable holes for me lie on the back 9 since that's where I played the last 8 in 1 under par. However, I think the 4th hole needs to be included in the top 3. A par 4 0f 366 from the whites. It's a dogleg left with 2 fairways, take the left more direct route and you are left with a short pitch of no more than 50 yards, play the hole to the right and much wider fairway and you are a good 120yds away. Very much a risk reward type hole. Hole number 11 has to be on this list. A short par 3 of 128 yds from the whites. This hole is very similar on shape to the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass. An island green with a bunker on the front right. Its may only be a PW but there is no room for error. Hole 15 is my final choice, a very short par 5, only 467 from the whites. Now this hole will long live in my memory only for the conversation Rich and I had before hitting the tee shot. I calculated that the lake in front of the green was about 280 uphill from the tee, in hindsight it was more like 265. I was hitting my driver pretty well I and talked it through with Rich and we agreed that 3 wood was a safer choice just in case I caught a driver sweet. So I hit 3 wood, when we got up to the landing area my ball was no where to be seen. Nick singled that it was in the water. Apparently I had driven through the guys in front, the ball had taken 2 bounces before going into the lake. I took a penalty drop, hit a six iron to the heart of the green and 2 putted for par.
