On Friday
19th Kelli was asked by Rick Stokes to do
back-up vocals for his title track on his new cd. So Kelli spent
about 2 and half hours working on this before we made our way out of the
community. The Hawkins gave us $20 and a
ride to Ran Furly and we began our adventure back to Oxford.
We didn’t leave Ran Furly until about 2pm.
We began walking and walked for 4 hours until we got a ride from two
sisters who took us to Palmerston. The sisters lived on a farm and their farm
had scenes filmed for “The Lord of the Rings Two Towers” on it. These girls gave us $15 to go get food but we
had so much food given to us from the Hawkins that we didn’t need to use
it. We got a ride from a guy who was
going hang gliding. He took us from Palmerston to Pukeuri. We then we got
a ride from Mike and Steve Chernishou who were two
Christian brothers who were going to Christchurch. So we talked about all kinds of deep
questions regarding Christianity. We ended up staying with them at their friend’s
house named Tim Wang in Christchurch. Tim did his DTS 6 years ago in Oxford.
So it was fun getting to share with these guys our experiences from the
week. We blessed them with $10 for
breakfast food.
