6th Day

On Wednesday 17th we finished our labor for the family and that afternoon we made our way west to a village called Orangapai which means land of healing.  The Patterson’s gave us $10 for food and said that we better use it on us and not to give it away.  God changed our plans to go to Lovell’s Flat and to go to this village.  This place is a Christian community that focuses on refreshing people and is a marriage retreat as well.  The community is self sufficient. The couple who God gave the vision to start the community so happened to be in Dunedin and came by and picked us up and took us to Orangapai.  It was amazing hear the Bradfield’s faith and adventure that God took them in starting this marriage retreat.  When getting to the community, we stayed with the Hawkins.  This family is friends with the Pattersons, so that was our connection to this community.  This family truly has the gift of hospitality.  We ate like a king and queen and were treated so well. That night we went to a home group and met the other families that stayed in this community.  What a blessing it was to meet everyone there.  God spoke a word of encouragement over us confirming words that have been shared over us previously while we have been here and also a lady was led to wash our feet.  That was such a blessing.

Some verses that God encouraged us with are Ps. 121:1-2, “I lift my eyes to the hills...my help comes from the Lord” (the place was surrounded by mts.) and Ps. 119:114, “You are my hiding place and my shield.”  God and this place was a wonderful hiding place.
