Day
On Saturday
the 13th, we had a great breakfast and lunch and then left for Dunedin. We got a ride with two college
students who worked at a ski field, and they took us from the outskirts of Timaru to St. Andrews. We walked for about two hours until we were
picked up a guy named Grubby who was a special effects producer who was doing a
show for the “Crushing Demons” motor cross show. He was very talented in making real life
looking skeletons, body parts, and gory-bloody stuff. Kelli was laying on
one of the bodies that he made. He was
real friendly and was looking for someone to ride with him. He seemed lonely. He took us to see the Moeraki Boulders and dropped us off at Waitati. We visited a friend of his who was a circus
ringleader. She had pink hair was very
hippy. She had a dog named Jesus, and we
shared with them what we were doing and pointed to Jesus the dog and shared how
Jesus sent out the disciples from Matthew 10. We then got a ride with a professor
from the polytechnical school in Dunedin.
He took us to a university flat/apartment that we were to stay at. The flat belonged to Ben Wilson which was the
son of the family that we stayed with on Friday night. The challenge was that when we got to the
flat there was no one there. So we
walked around Dunedin to see if there was a Saturday
night church service and found a church that God led us to called Elim. It didn’t have
a Saturday service, but we were going to go to it for church on Sunday. We went back to the flat hoping that someone
was there to let us in. We sat outside
the door until 10 pm and then decided to go next door and see if the
neighbors knew where they were. They
text messaged Ben’s roommate, Phil and in five minutes he was there and we were
in the flat. Phil said that we could
stay as long as we wanted to and eat any of the food there.
God
taught us to wait on Him today but also to be bold and ask others for help.
