THE BOULDER POLICE

The Boulder Police Department made many vital mistakes in this case. It is my belief to deter the growing media and public interest and save themselves from the embarassment of their incompitance to the case the police pointed the finger to JonBenets parents - naming them as prime suspects.
This case was the Boulder Police Department's first serious homicide investigation in years and many of the officers working on the case at the begining were unexperienced in homicide. The Boulder police should have allowed more experienced homicide investigators, such as those who offered their assistance from Denver or the FBI to work with them from the very beginning.

Here is a list of some of the crucial mistakes *I* found Boulder Police made;
- Patsy called 911 at 5:52am - police did not arrive till 8.10am
- They did not conduct a proper searchh of the house.
- The area was not sealed off
- Family and friends were allowed to walk around the house
- At 1pm police asked John Ramsey to search the house looking for 'anything out of place' - it was now John and his 2 friends found JonBenets body in a room police didn't bother to search beacause the door was jammed
- No moves were made to protect any foorensic evidence
- (This quote comes from Boulder Policce District Attorney Alex Hunter - the whole story can be read at http://www-cgi.cnn.com/US/9801/11/jonbenet/ )
Hunter is also quoted as saying police may not have pursued the idea that an intruder killed JonBenet because "the cops became so convinced that the Ramseys did it that they've never been able to look at the evidence objectively."
