Everyone at sometime or another has taken a photograph. Whether with highly advanced pieces of technology that can read the the licence plate of a car from hundreds of feet up to small one - time -use cameras, photography has been the best way to take a moment and freeze it. People just love to take a memorable scene and put it on film or, now, megapixles. While some keep it as a passing interest, others make a life long hobby or job out of it. These are the photographers.

Now, you may be asking yourself, how did a railfan and musician get on the path to becoming a photographer? I guess you can say it started when I went on the annual vacation to Lake San Antonio with my family about three years ago. For the first time, I had a nice camera with a flash. With a large amount of film I started taking more and more and more photos. While that was the first time I had taken large amount of photos for one event, I didn't start taking photos reguarly until I decided to combine my new interest with my old and forever strong interest and started a new hobby; railfan photography.

This shouldn't suprise any of you railfans out there. Whether you consider yourself a photographer or not, you all at one time have taken you camera trackside. I too was bitten by the photography bug. Once I was old enough to ride by bike trackside, it became a regular past time to go out and railfan with my camera.

My big boost in my photography came in August 2003 when I got my beloved digital camera with 128 megabytes of memory. With this I can take 153 photos with good quality and size. Shortly after I got it I put it's memory and megapixels to work when I went to Yosemite National Park and Lake San Antonio the following week. I took over on hundred photos during each trip.

Today I still take photos of trains and also take photos for the Director of Childrens Ministries at my church.
