Enchanting Talismans

 

In order to enchant a talisman, you must have the skill “Create Talisman” You must also find a Forge in-game. This is represented by a sheet of paper taped to the wall which says “Forge”.

 

Rules for Talisman-craft

  1. You must acquire a talisman tag. This is a small card which must be carried with the talisman at all times. If the talisman is stolen, you must hand over the tag as well. If the talisman is used up, the tag must be ripped up. The tag must be signed by the Game Master, Dan Comstock. When you get the tag, you must give him the material components you spent at the forge.
  2. You may choose the form of a talisman. It can be a necklace, a bracelet, a favorite mug, a shampoo bottle, anything that does not already have an in-game tag, like an existing talisman, quicksilver, a weapon, et cetera.
  3. If the talisman requires an activation phrase or action, the creator of the talisman chooses what this is. This means that in order to activate the properties of the talisman, you must say a phrase, perform an action, or something similar. This can be as simple as “Praise be to Vecna!” or something complicated like a poem. Actions can be anything from a gesture (like clapping ones hands), or a task, like drinking a glass of water, or climbing a tree.
  4. A person may only have one Talisman active at a time. After a talisman is used, another talisman cannot be used for one minute afterwards.

 

At Level 1 Talisman Craft

·        You may create a talisman which will heal 3 points of Health. This costs 3 mana and 2 Quicksilver. It can only be used once. This requires an activation word.

·        You may create a talisman which will heal 3 points of Essence. This costs 3 mana and 2 Quicksilver. It can only be used once.

·        You may create a talisman which will recharge 3 points of Mana. This costs 3 mana and 2 Quicksilver. It can only be used once.

 

At Level 2 Talisman Craft

·        You may create a talisman which will allow the wearer to call “resist” and not take effect from one elemental attack or effect. When the talisman is created, you must specify fire, ice, lightning, or stone. This costs 5 mana and 4 Quicksilver. It can only be used once.

·        You may create a talisman which will allow the wearer to call “resist” and not take effect from one magical effect. When the talisman is created, you must specify charm or summoning. (anything with the incantation “I charm you” or “I call forth / I summon”) This costs 6 mana and 6 Quicksilver. It can only be used once.

 

At Level 3 Talisman Craft

·        You may create a talisman which will shield the wearer from the effects of Fetish Dolls. This costs 9 mana and 10 Quicksilver. This Talisman lasts for one month.

·        You may create a talisman which will slow the effects of a Circle of Destruction. He will take damage every 60 seconds instead of every 30 seconds while in a Circle of Destruction. This costs 7 mana and 7 Quicksilver. This Talisman lasts for six months

·        You may create a talisman which will reveal to the wearer who is the sender of Dream Visions. This costs 7 mana and 7 Quicksilver. This Talisman lasts for six months.

·        You may create a talisman which will shield the wearer from the effects of a Love God’s peace making ability. This costs 9 mana and 10 Quicksilver. This Talisman lasts for one week.

 

 

At Level 4 Talisman Craft

·        You may create a wand. After the wand is created, someone must cast a spell on it. Any spell or ability that involves a spell packet (Sorcerous spells, Shamanic Circles, et cetera) may be cast into the wand. The wand is now charged with that spell. Once ever, the wand may cast that spell “By My Wand”. After the spell is cast, the wand is broken. This costs 9 mana and 10 Quicksilver. The wand will expire in one year if not used. The wand requires an activation action or phrase.

 

 

At Level 5 Talisman Craft

·        You may create a wand. After the wand is created, someone must cast a spell on it. Any spell or ability that involves a spell packet (Sorcerous spells, Shamanic Circles, et cetera) may be cast into the wand. The wand is now charged with that spell. Once ever, the wand may cast that spell “By My Voice”. After the spell is cast, the wand is broken. This costs 12 mana and 15 Quicksilver. The wand will expire in one year if not used. The wand requires an activation action or phrase.
