Forging Weapons

Anyone in the game has the skill to forge a basic weapon. In order to do so, you must first find a forge in-game. This is represented by a sheet of paper taped to the wall which says “Forge”.

At a Forge, you may spend 4 quicksilver to make a silver weapon or 4 cold iron to make a cold iron weapon. This melee weapon may take the form of anything you want (dagger, short sword, long sword, two handed sword, mace, scythe, whatever) When you swing the weapon, you may say “1 iron” or “1 silver”.

There are some out-of-game conventions that will slow you down-

  1. You must acquire a weapon tag. This is a small card which must be taped to your weapon at all times. The tag indicates the type and amount of damage the weapon deals. The tag must be signed by the Game Master, Dan Comstock. When you get the tag, you must give him the quicksilver or cold iron tags you spent at the forge.
  2. The actual padded foam boffer weapon must be approved by a weapon marshal. The two current weapon marshals are Dan Comstock and Mike Stern. Dan can be contacted at x3060, and lives in Outback 233A. For some reason, I don’t have Mike Stern’s contact information, but it’ll go up as soon as he sends it to me.

Once you have the thumbs-up of a weapon marshal and the weapon tag, you actually have the weapon in-game and may fight with it. When you’re not playing, keep the weapon in a place which is labeled “out-of-game”, like your closet. Alternatively, attach a card to the weapon which is marked “out-of-game”. Remember that if you don’t do this, the weapon is still technically in the dreaming and can be stolen by anyone who happens to walk by.

If the boffer weapon becomes damaged or unsafe, it is your responsibility to repair it before you fight again. If you are fighting unsafely or knowingly fighting with an unsafe weapon, your weapon privileges may be revoked for a period of time.

If anyone rips up your weapon tag, this is representative of them smashing it in-game. If this happens, the weapon is broken.

If you want to make your weapon stronger, you must find a God of War and have it tempered.
