3 projects running concurrently. Upgrade of JPMorgan scheduling environment (CA Workload) from version 2.1 to 2.4. Followed by 2 migration projects - Environment and Infrastructure monitoring from CA Unicenter (2.4) to Tivoli, and scheduling migration from CA Workload (2.4) to Autosys (3.5.1).

Project was to migrate the Heritage Flemings systems management environment (ITO) to CA Unicenter, post merger of JPMorgan, Flemings and Chase. Migration was performed within the production environment with no loss of service.

July 2001 - December 2001. eCommerce Monitoring.
Set up of secure system to monitor remote web servers. Using CA eTrust VPN to provide secure data transport, protocol filtering and encryption between the production LAN and the DMZ (De-Militarizied Zone). CA Web Management Agents were implemented on the web servers to monitor 'Websphere' and 'Netscape Enterprise Server'. Web Traffic Analyser was used to provide automated and detailed reporting functions.

February 2001 - July 2001. Global Unicenter environment upgrade.
A global project implemented in London, New York and Geneva. An Upgrade of the existing environment (NT & Solaris) to TNG 2.4. London and NY were upgraded simultaneously to provide continuity. A high availability workload solution was added.

May 2002 - September 2002. Implementation of CA Workload and Security monitoring.
CA Workload was implemented to provide production scheduling of the JP Morgan Private Banking environment in Geneva. Detailed security monitoring was added to all servers in the existing CA environment (Unix, Wintel and AS400).

Description:
Rollout of Unicenter 3.0, Service Desk, Asset Management, Software Delivery and Remote Control Options
New implementation and rollout of Unicenter 3.0 (NSM), Unicenter Service Desk, AMO and SDO. Including architecture and rollout of the chosen solution. All products were integrated to provide access from the main Service Desk GUI. Project included the creation of custom software packages for future delivery, and all training of Siemens employees. Asset Management and Software Delivery where configured to provide fast and reliable support for remote sites from the central IT offices.

Description:
Rollout of Unicenter 3.0, Asset Management, Software Delivery and Web Management Option
Unicenter rollout to monitor tesco.com production web servers, and to equip the IT support teams with extensive remote management tools. The new system either integrated with or upgraded the existing TNG 2.4 infrastructure. A SMS queuing system was developed using advanced batch file scripting to provide automated out of hours escalation. Extensive use of Web Management agents (IIS Agent, Web response and Traffic Analyser).

Description:
Implementation and support of Unicenter TNG 2.2, Advanced Help Desk, Asset Management and Software Delivery
Two visits to this company. The first was the implementation of the Unicenter suite of products to assist the IT departments' support functions. Asset Management and Software Delivery agents were installed on all desktop machines in the Marshall Group. Using custom designed scripts, the software was delivered to around 30 remote sites from their central offices in Cambridge. The second visit was to develop their existing TNG implementation, now that the permanent staff had become adequately skilled to use and support the products effectively. Advanced SDO configuration was added and custom templates were developed for AMO to allow site-specific information to be obtained. Monitoring of their Tandem systems was also added. In house training was provided in the required areas.

Senior consultant and manager of Enterprise Consultancy team
I worked as a permanent employee of The Quidditas Group until December 2001, and later as an independent consultant, on most of the projects mentioned above. As a permanent member of staff I was the senior enterprise consultant leading a small team of 6 other consultants. Main responsibilities were: project management of all consultants' work, pre-sales technical visits to client sites, architecting and scoping client projects, staff appraisals and development, and staff recruitment. I implemented regular supervision and appraisal sessions utilising project management principles.

Providing clients with on-site consultancy services for CA Unicenter suite of products, the Open Designer software and web development
I joined Open Designer as a trainee consultant and quickly gained the CA qualifications. After which I went on to participate in a number of Unicenter / Open Designer projects, the largest being at Marshall Aerospace as mentioned above. In addition to this I also worked on 'Business to business' eCommerce development. Being responsible for the database to web page interaction.
Key Achievements: Obtained CUE certification and successfully used the skills at client sites. Designed a database driven dynamic menu system using Macromedia Generator and Flash, which was used as a template for all web sites.

Description: NT administration and software development
I had 3 main roles at the small ISP based in Lincolnshire. Firstly, NT administration of their internal network and support for desktop machines. Secondly, Database and accounts software programming and support, using the Visual dataflex package. The company provided specialised accounts software the removal industry across the UK (The Fox Group, Britannia Group, Ballards and other smaller firms). Thirdly, support for Boundary and Variable Nutrient Mapping technology. We supplied nutrient mapping and variable rate spreading services to arable farms across the east of England.
Key Achievements: Converted the office infrastructure from stand-alone PC’s to an NT Network. Developed scripts to interpret the GPS and soil sample data, to facilitate the better use of variable nutrient mapping technology.

Position: Consultant - Development and Beta Testing
Description: Testing and development of various CA products at their Quality Assurance Labs in Slough
Various short term projects across 4 years. The position is to Beta test new versions of CA software and where necessary to assist the in-house development team. Over the 4 year period I have tested new versions of almost all of the CA Unicenter products on a variety of platforms. The most notable project was a two month period at the end of 1999 spent developing the Windows 2000 system agent.
