Awwww, sweet 'lil Joe!
Name: Joseph Sirois. More commonly known as Joe, Joe Da Kid, 'lil Joe or (my personal favourite) the Ladies' Choice...ha-ha, wonder where that came from?

Born: January 27th, 1972, North Andover, Massachusetts. Currently lives in Somersville, Mass. Joe has two siblings; a sister named Amy and a brother named Dan, who gave him a drum set for christmas when he was 9 years old, young Joe proceeded to teach himself to play.

Stuff about Joe...

I'm an avid Joe fan...though I often feel a little bit guilty for admitting that Nate was always my fave Bosstone (well he was)...I'm so sorry Joe, you're definitely my favourite 'tone now...sort of...I have a soft spot for Joe G and Ben too! Anyways, I very often can be found singing Joe's praises very loudly! I can be very vocal when I want to be!!! Joe is a cool guy...pretty laid back, he rules!

Joe is an aquarius; "Ruled by shocking Uranus, Aquarius very much epitomes the planet that inspires it. This sign has astonishing intellectual and communication skill. Aquarius may the sign of the rugged individualist, the mad scientist and the lone eccentric, but this visionary also represents social interaction and higher consciousness. Aquarius' title, the "Humanitarian of the Zodiac," is well earned! For a fixed sign, Aquarius has a lot of adaptability. Attribute this to the need to accommodate others. A passion for life, new things, and novel situations sends Aquarius in all directions! Without stability and a willingness to listen, however, this sign can become erratic. Aquarius can try many new things but end up mastering none. That can stifle the great success potential here. Slowing down long enough to establish a solid foundation gives Aquarius the ability to ground his or her electrical energy. Receptivity can calm rebellious tendencies, especially those that put a member of this sign at cross-purposes with his or her boss! Aquarius' future-oriented energies give all members of this sign the advantage of living as if they are well into the 25th Century!" In chinese astrology Joe is a pig; I'm sure being a pig isn't all bad, is it? No - afterall Mikey and Nate are pigs too so it definitely isn't all bad, ha-ha! "Pigs are highly intelligent creatures, forever studying, playing and probing in their quest for greater knowledge. They can be misinterpreted as being lazy, however, due to their love of reveling in the good stuff; this Sign could happily spend hours on end making love, napping, taking a long bubble bath or dallying over an incredible spread of rich foods. Pigs tend to make wonderful life partners due to their hearts of gold and their love of family. Even so, Pigs can be rather exclusive, choosing to spend time with those who will appreciate them most and ignore the rest of the populace. Pigs would do well to realize that there's more to life than being needed. When they open up their world to a diverse group of people, they will truly bloom. A Pig with no one around to appreciate its giving nature is a sad sight. Pigs are so magnanimous they can appear almost saintly; this can lead some less-than-well-intentioned souls to stomp all over this sign...and the bad news is that the little Pig will take all the blows! Pigs make great companions in part because of their refusal to see the more negative or base qualities in their partner, but that rose-colored view can lead to this sign's allowing themself to be taken advantage of. Contrary to their seemingly benign dispositions however, Pigs can be quite venomous in response to being crossed by a lover, friend or business partner." So watch out!

More about Joe...

Joe Sirois; golfer!Joe attended Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, but unfortunately he didn't graduate. Thats where he met the truly endearing Dicky Barrett and obviously this meeting was to be most fruitful for young Joe as he eventually joined the Bosstones...musical history in the making...the rest, as they say, is history! Joe replaced original drummer Josh Dalsimer who left to pursue his education...though Josh can be currently found taking The Kickovers pics in his profession as a profession photographer...way to go Josh! Over the years Joe has become a very popular Bosstone indeed, but his desire to rock when the Bosstones weren't on tour was fulfilled by his ex-bandmate and good friend, Nate Albert...in the form of The Brakes...who as you all now know are the band we've come to cherish called The Kickovers, ha-ha! How tongue in cheek is my writing style?

Joe's musical influences are Stewart Copeland, Clem Burke, The Clash, and The Jam. The first concert Joe attened was Iron Maiden in 1987. His first band were called Distorted View.

He's also worked at Denny's; which oddly enough just so happens to be one of the Bosstones' fave on the road restaurants! Mr Sirois also likes golf...and is apparently rather good at it too. Fore! (I know absolutely jack about golf I'm afraid).

Joe has yet to play any live shows with The Kickovers (boo-hoo) his replacement being Jamie from The Pills who seems to be doing a pretty damn fine job filling his seat...but we do miss little Joe...obviously with Bosstones' commitments Joe brings a rather hectic schedule to every band he plays in but hopefully there will be a time and a place where The Kickovers and Joe can be in the right place at the right time...ha-ha!

The Mighty Mighty BosstonesMeanwhile Joe is a very big part of the Bosstones and they release their eagerly anticipated seventh studio album "Jacknife To A Swan" in July on Los Angeles-based independent label SideOneDummy Records. "It's a match made in heaven," says Bosstones singer Dicky Barrett. "Having spent as many years as we have in the corporate system and fighting it from all directions, it's nice to be in a house where the owners understand who we are and let us call it home." I can hardly wait!

Joe is a really genuine person, very sweet and friendly...a totally funny guy! I've met him quite a few times and I'm always astounded that he remembers me, no matter which country we happen to be in at the time! I first met Joe at a gig in Rhode Island, John Rioux introduced me "This is my friend Nicola, from England." Thats where my nickname comes from because they all decided that there was only one Nicola from England and that she is...well, ME! So the nickname came along and it stuck, all thanks to John and Joe!

**Since all of the above was typed up, Joe has been replaced in The Kickovers by the lovely Jamie, who as you all know has been doing a great job playing live with the band. Understandabley Joe's commitments to the Bosstones are very strong and will now take up quite a considerable amount of time, plus he's also been filling in on drumming duties for the awesome Avoid One Thing with the equally amazing Mr Gittleman. This bio will stay here for as long as possible...or until I get bored of it (Joe, I could never get bored of you...honestly) because Joe was still an awesome part of the recording process of Osaka and therefore he still deserves a little kudos.**
