2. Just how cool is it to be in this band and play with such awesome musicians? It is cooler than a breeze blowing out of a Kafka novel, right up a witches bathrobe.
3. How would you describe The Kickovers and your music? The Kickovers are much like a think tank of Harvard pychotherapists on sebaticle in a silver ford van traveling the country playing brilliant rock and roll concerts, occasionaly arguing over Dr.Rioux's poor choice of emo poop jams on the hi-fi. Our music speaks for itself; pure genius. And it smells a bit like a 12yr. old's bicycle seat. We're poised to rock arenas world wide. Thank you.
4. Everyone is going crazy about Osaka and the tour; so how have you found the general reaction to both? What does everyone think of this reaction you're getting? I try not to be to reactionary towards important world issues, one being our amazing, beautiful Osaka. But we're very happy about it.
5. The fans really love and support you guys so much and you all return that support to the fans; how cool has the support from the fans been? Support is an important part of our existence on this planet. Remember that. I saw it on nova, and I love love love female aduration. I love you, girls. Thank you.
6. What qualities does everyone bring to this band? Jamie: soccer balls, vast knowlege of insects and hand jive. Johnny: stunning good looks, ability to talk on his cell phone and threaten the lives of many with his curious driving techniques. Nate: hogs the beds we share on tour. Likes kissing me. Brilliant song writer. Likes trying new things (Arby's) oh, and he's my best friend. Me (Mikey): I like purple and I make a reallllly good grilled cheese.
7. What is most rewarding; touring or recording? Robbing a bank, I suppose. Oh, making out too.
8. In a recent interview you said; "We're like, 'Yeah, we're mellow about it. We're just going to do the record.' And then we're like 'blah-blah, tour-tour, merch!' Which is okay. We won't ever get pressured into doing things we don't wanna do because we've already been through that. We wanna keep it fun and mellow." is this a better and more relaxed approach to music for you that you feel more comfortable with? That philosophy went right out the window a long time ago. Don't ever rely on my quotes to make any sense or have any substance whatsoever. Oh, and I'm most comfortable on a couch, cuddling.
9. Does it bother you that so many people have certain preconceptions about you or is it unimportant that people tend to believe everything they read? It's inevitable at times but most of these things are based upon crazy rumours...what are your feelings about this? Regarding truths, the artist has a weaker morality than the thinker. He definitely does not want to be deprived of the splendid and profound interpretations of life, and he resists sober, simple methods and results. Thank you.
10. On a lighter note; would you ever perform live in a dress again? Do you think the others would go for it too? I'd totally pay to see that show...you could all get away with it too...man enough to wear a dress, etc!!! Yes, I already have. In fact I usually wear a dress and don a wig while talking in a sweet southern whisper while we're on long trips in the van. Nate likes it quite a bit. I think it makes his girlfriend a bit jealous though. Thank you
11. Which is best; concentrating on one project/band or having your fingers in a couple of pies? Is "pies" a metaphor for what I think ? I have a hard time concentrating in those "situations". By the way, Johnny is afraid of pie. I on the other hand, am not.
12. Does the "ex-Weezer" tag bother you that much? Could you imagine if everyone refered to you as "ex-every band you've ever played in"...that'd be a super-long tag! Mmmmmmmmmm........
13. If and when you get some spare time, how do you like to spend it? Any hobbies? I am a painter. I save dolphins.
14. Tell me something about yourself that might surprise everyone else? I never wear underwear, and I love to dance.
15. What makes you angry? Overcooking brownies.
16. ...and what brings you inner-peace? Really good sex. Thank you.
17. I think you have an amazing array of tattoos; how many have you got and do you plan on getting more? Just tell me all about them... I stopped counting the little fuckers. My favorites are the squrils on my thighs.
18. What's your favourite movie and tv show? Dr. Strangelove. The Gong Show.
19. Who'd play you in "The Kickovers - The Movie"? Winona Ryder. I hung out with her at SNL. She loves me. I think, we were drunk.
20. What were you like as a child? Blonde and happy.
21. Which band would you most like to tour with and why? Led Zeppelin. They're pretty cool.
22. What are your feelings about the internet? I can't actually feel it. It's weird science.
23. Tell me something funny about the others? Oh, ha ha ha, hodeehohoho. Thank you.
24. What's your favourite joke? Me.
25. What's the funniest thing you ever read or heard about yourself? "Why do you steal so cautiously through the twilight, zarathustra?"
26. What song do you sing in the shower...if you sing in the shower that is? I tend to make up songs about my tiny bum bum.
27. If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Judy Garland. Pills.
28. What was the last CD you bought? Hall and Oates, Rock and Soul vol.1. I'm not kidding.
29. Of all the things you've done what makes you most proud and happiest? That my mom loves me.
30. What question do you wish I'd asked? And what would have been the answer to that question? "When has a dragon ever died of the poison of snake?" "and what, O zarathustra, is the moral of your story?".
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at these questions...
God bless, Mikey.
