Medical studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences in Linköping.
University Diploma in Medicine (Sv. Läkarexamen), the 19th of January 1996.

Started to work in the Pediatric Department in Örebro Univesity Hospital 1998.
PhD Thesis about Perinatal gastrointestinal disease. 8th of December 2001.

At present I do research in Areas related to breastfeeding, gastrointestinal disease (with focus on celiac disease) as well as general epidemiology. I also have experience of running clinical trials adn have co-ordinated one multicentre clinical trialand one multicentre observational trial.

During spring 2004 I spent 4 months at the Clinical Epidemiology Unit (mini-postdoc) at the Karolinska hospital under the supervision of Anders Ekbom . The purpose of that stay was to gt hands-on experience of working with the medical birth registry and the national inpatient registry.
I also work with data from the ABIS-study (All Babies In Southeast Sweden). I am responsible for the areas gastroenterology and nutrition. ABIS study [in Swedish] co-ordinator is Johnny Ludvigsson,, Prof. of Paediatrics, Linköping, Sweden.

I  have a sincere interest in medical teaching and published a book on the research methodology in 2002 (see below). Another book on Paediatrics is on its way. I have also been commissioned to write a Book chapter on "Information technology in Pediatrics" for the Swedish book on emergency Pediatrics. Further proof of my interest in medical information technology is  the Crohn's Index Web Site that I co-ordinate and the Theme issue on "handheld medicine" in Läkartidningen for which I was the cuest editor.
Peer reviewer for several international medical journals.
 
As part of my work as President of the national working group for pediatric epidemiology I will co-ordinate a course in pediatric epidemiology in march 2004 in Örebro. I have also organised several national meetings with international guest lecturers.

In 2003 I translated and adapted the Book "Paediatrics at a glance" (Miall et al). This book appeared in 2004 (Studentlitteratur). The Swedish tiitle is "Barnmedicin i ett nötskal".
