She was a ten-time national tennis champion and a mainstay of the Philippine national team with 5 stints at the SEA GAMES and 4 outings in the ASIAN GAMES. She is the first Filipina to earn WTA World Ranking and play in Jr. Wimbledon and U.S. Open. She was under tennis scholarship at Broward College in Florida and became state champion and number one All-American.
Dyan is the Sports editor of the ABS-CBN Channel 2 News Department. In 1998, she was awarded as one of the "Filipina Women Achievers In Sports". She was also "Tennis Athlete Of The Year" in 1983/85 and 1986 by the Philippine Sportswriters Association. |
