Pilgrimage to the past: Guillaume returns to the Uyuni restaurant where his sister Aurelie organized his birthday party on July 27th, 1996. She had improvised a cake out of the limited options on the menu, piling up six pancakes in-between layers of condensed milk. They ate it on top of the glowing-red coal stove since the outside temperature was around minus 25 degrees Celsius. Nothing had changed in six years, except maybe the Potosina Beer add on the wall (click on it to enlarge). In 1996, the model was slightly more traditional. |
