We saw almost as many pink flamingos in Bolivia as we saw penguins on Isla Magdalena in Patagonia. They were everywhere: sleeping on one leg, digging in the mud for food, flying in formations of five to seven, and itching themselves with their flexible long necks. Catching a good photo was another story, since they didn't seem to appreciate our close presence, always flying away when approached.
