STAR TREK

Races of Trek

The Federation
There are several United Federation of Planets styles to pick from.

I made one, I'm still working on it, you can download it here. The race pics are still placeholders otherwise I'm happy with this set. Needs some AI files though. 01-31-01: added a 66% complete Fedeation_Speech_AI.txt file, a design name file, and an .emp file.

Another Trek set was made by A.J. at about the same time I was working on mine (so we ended up swapping notes and we shared a few graphics). You can download his set by going to the UFA/TCO shipyards and grabbing it there; if I get permission to host it here also, I will. His is less black background friendly, it's the only knock I got against it.

Finally, there's also Atrocities' UFA_Federation set, which you can grab off the UFA/TCO Ship Yards or through this mirror link. Not my favorite set, really.

The Borg Collective
As far as I know, right now there are also only two Borg styles to pick from, one is for the demo only.

I made this one (including a complete Borg_AI_Speech.txt that adds a lot of spice to the game). It's mostly based off the one made by Warp-Nine, and I'm still working on it, but you can download it here. It should work right away and let you get the Borg up and running in your game. (A bunch of errors were just fixed, too, so give it another download if you like). 01-31-01: added design name files and an .emp file.

The one I based it off of was Warp-Nine's Borg set replacement for the Drushocka in the demo. You can download his set by going to the his Trek page and grabbing it there; if I get permission to host it here also, I will. Check that site anyway, he's posting some good AI files for you to add to these sets.

The Klingon Empire
The Klingon file I think you should use is this one, it covers all the full version ship slots; it ain't pretty, but it works, and there's no Star Wars or other graphics. Read the read.me file in it to see who did what. Someone needs to step up and do a good linguistic text file for it though.

Atrocities made the first Klingon file. You can grab it here off the UFA/TCO Ship Yards. He didn't include a readme file but if you go to UFA/TCO you should be able to get in touch with him. Be advised he used Star Wars and Babylon 5 graphics in this style.

The Romulan Star Empire
Okay, your best Romulan empire that I know of is this one: Romulan.zip. I took a couple other people's efforts and combined them into one playable file. It's by no means complete (check out the read_me for credits and room for improvement) but it does work. And the shipset is uniformly green and recognizable.

The Cardassian Union
Okay I took a couple rough shipsets posted by a couple people and hacked them together into something coherent for the full version. And Neal the God Emperor added some AI for this set. The Cardassians have turned out pretty well. Check 'em out, and scan the read_me file to see what needs fixing.

Here's the Cardassian.zip.

The Gorn Confederation
You remember these guys from Starfleet Battles and Starfleet Command, right? Well, no one made any ship sets for them, but I figured out how to fudge them into a regular game by cutting and pasting existing graphics. Click the link and follow instructions. And yes, that .zip file really is that small. Hit the read_me file if you want to contibute to these guys.

Here's the Gornco.zip.

The Ferengi Plutocracy
We all love the Ferengi. Well, no one made any ship sets for them, but I figured out how to fudge them into a regular game by cutting and pasting existing graphics just like the Gorn. Click the link and follow instructions. And yes, that. zip file really is that small. Hit the read_me file if you want to contibute to these guys.

Here's the Ferengis.zip.

The Tholian Assembly
Here's another obscure Star Trek race, and no, no one made any ship sets for them, but I figured out how to fudge them into a regular game by cutting and pasting existing graphics just like the Gorn and Ferengi. Click the link and follow instructions. And yes, that. zip file really is that small. Hit the read_me file if you want to contibute to these guys.

Here's the Tholiannns.zip.

Everyone Else...
I haven't yet seen or assembled any complete files for Vulcans, 7842, Bajorans, etc. If you know of any, or have any links or files for me to post, let me know. I'll try to update this page ASAP, though give me at least a week for lag time. If you're looking for graphics and stuff to get you started, try some of the links on my page or the other pages, and especially check out Warp-Nine's stuff. He's got a good head start on many of the styles. And he's mostly working on the race AI.
