Act 3, Scene 5:
It is the morning, and Romeo and Juliet are together in Juliet's room after
spending the night getting to know each other better. Romeo has to leave,
as he will be killed if he is seen in Verona after dawn.
Juliet's mother walks in the room, and tells Juliet of the
plans to have her married to Paris. Juliet refuses, and Juliet's father comes
in the room and yells at her a little bit. Lord Capulet says that if
Juliet does not marry Paris, she will be thrown out of the house.
Everyone but the nurse and Juliet leave, and the nurse tells
Juliet that she should Just marry Paris, because Romeo is gone. Juliet
says she is going to the church to confess her sins, but she is really going to
Friar Lawrence for some help. |
